Kelly loves looking for the latest and greatest trends in design. One design trend that has inspired Kelly recently is satin brass finishes. Here’s three reasons why she loves satin brass, including her tips for how to implement this trend into your home.
A Little Unexpected
Satin brass finishes can provide an element of surprise in a home. Although satin brass may not be the most conventional choice, it is becoming very popular, and homeowners will love the unique look. This is an example of how all trends come full circle. Satin brass finishes were very popular back in the 1970s and 1980s. Those who are remodeling may be tempted to replace the old brass finishes in their home, but with a little care they can be new and trendy.
So Many Options
The great thing about satin brass is that it can be implemented in many different ways. Satin brass light fixtures are very popular, as well as cabinetry and hardware finishes. For those who are cautious about making this trend permanent in their home, Kelly suggests picking out smaller satin brass accessories that homeowners can move around or switch out as they wish.
Satin brass makes a strong statement in a home, so it works best when used subtly. Neutral and solid colors go best with satin brass. Kelly suggests using one or two satin brass elements in a room to create the most cohesive look. For example, using satin brass light fixtures and cabinet pulls in the kitchen, or satin brass hardware and accent pieces in a bathroom. The possibilities are endless!
