Holiday Decor 1Many southern state homes do not have fireplaces, and since this is the most obvious place to hang your stockings, the thought is that they cannot be hung. Think again! A staircase is the perfect secondary location to hang ones stocking from. String some garland and lights around the railing and balusters, and hang those stockings with care!

Holiday Decor 2Reuse, Refurbish, Repurpose! Take apothecaries that you may already have, or pick a couple up at your local Home Goods or thrift store, and fill them with holiday goodies. Edible, decorative, scented, or all three; if you are hosting a holiday get together fill them with holiday cookies and treats, or use them solely for décor purposes. Bows, ribbons, ornaments, candy canes, evergreen, pine-cones, etc.!

Holiday Decor 3The classic go-to for holiday door décor is a classic wreath, either purchased or DIY. This year, stray away from the norm! Grab yourself a few branches of evergreen and tie a festive piece of fabric around the top. Then use a decorative piece of ribbon to hang this ‘modern wreath’ from your front door. This rendition will be the talk of the neighborhood!
